Requests for Corporate Funding may require the following information depending on the type of request:

Please allow at least 30 days for notification regarding funding decision, with additional time possible prior to transfer of funds if approval is granted.


Request Type Definitions

Charitable Grants - Requests from a bona fide independent, third-party charitable organization with tax-exempt status. These are unsolicited requests for financial support to further patient education, disease awareness, or other philanthropic causes that ultimately benefit patients or the community and that are without influence or control from United Therapeutics.

Patient Financial Assistance Charity Grants - Requests from a bona fide, independent, non-profit organization that provides disease-based financial assistance for co-payments and other out-of-pocket expenses to patients. Independent patient financial assistance charities receiving financial assistance from United Therapeutics must operate as either a Public Charity or a Public Foundation pursuant to Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Sections 501(c)(3) or 509(a)(1-3), respectively. Such charities also must have a current favorable advisory opinion from OIG and must certify that they are in compliance with the terms of that current advisory opinion.

Patient Support Groups - Requests for a United Therapeutics-sponsored educational speaker and modest refreshments for patient-led support group meetings.

Sponsorships - Funding opportunities offered by organizations such as medical societies, hospitals, patient organizations, and similar organizations that host conferences, health and wellness fairs, or patient educational events where United Therapeutics receives a benefit in return for the funding.
